Light+Building



Light+Building – International Trade Fair for Architecture and Technology – is to be extended from five to six days. It will begin, as already announced, on 6 April and end on 11 April 2008. This was approved by the majority of the Light+Building Exhibitor Advisory Council following a request of the Central Association of the German Electrical and Electronic Engineering Industry (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie – ZVEI). Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt: "We have intensively discussed the pros and cons of an additional, sixth, day for the fair with the industry, trade and other partners on the demand side since the successful end of Light+Building in April 2006. The result is a majority of exhibitors in favour of more time for valuable customer talks."

Japan Luminaires Association and Nihon Keizai Shimbun,Inc. are pleased to announce LIGHTING FAIR 2005 (The 8th INTERNATIONAL LIGHTING FAIR TOKYO) to be held from March 6 (Tue.) to 9 (Fri.) at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center "TOKYO BIG SIGHIT." The 2005 Fair, marking the eighth in the series, will present an impressive array of products and technology featuring lighting equipment, light sources, related materials and components from Japan and abroad.
Protection of the global environment, energy conservation, measures for an aging society, safety and security... such key words have come to form vitally important themes for contemporary society. The latest lighting products designed to cope with these issues have many and varied functions and degrees of performances enabling them to make a valuable contribution to the world.
Lighting is indispensable and has countless beneficial effects. Skilled application of lighting products can create comfortable space friendly to people, hence contributes to protecting the global environment and energy-saving. Lighting also has an aspect of culture and amenity, with elements of pleasure and beauty. Well-designed, attractive lighting constitutes an important factor in securing comfortable living.
On the other hand, lighting technology is a key to converting limited important energy into light so useful for humankind. Promoting the role of lighting and its added value to society as a whole is highly significant as it helps deepen an understanding of the lighting as making an invaluable contribution to social endeavors. Moreover, having users understand the role of lighting and the technology that enables it in the form of the latest products will lead to a new market and vitalizing markets expected to grow in the future.
Thus the Fair intends to disseminate a raft of information on lighting products current modern industry and living, including the improved use of technical innovation and the latest trends, while realizing exchanges with visitors, especially users, geared to develop the lighting trade and expand business in this sphere. It should also be notes that the Fair website will feature update information throughout the year. And as previously, the Fair will be held concurrently with "JAPAN SHOP", "ARCHITECTURE + CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS" and other events, thereby generating multiplier effects in attracting visitors.
